Email QR Code Generator
Scanning opens a fresh email addressed to you — you can pre-fill the subject and message too. No account, no watermark.
How an email QR code works
The code encodes a mailto: link. Scanning it opens the phone's mail app
with a new message already addressed to you, and — if you filled them in — the
subject line and body already written. The sender only has to add their own words
and hit send.
Where it earns its keep
- Quote and enquiry forms on printed ads. Pre-fill the subject so enquiries arrive already sorted.
- Support and warranty labels. Pre-fill a subject with the product name so you know what is being asked about.
- Job adverts. Pre-fill the role in the subject line.
- Event feedback. Put it on the back of a badge or programme.
Getting it right
A pre-filled subject is the useful part. It costs almost nothing in code density and it means incoming mail arrives already labelled with where the scan happened — put the campaign or location in it and you get crude tracking for free.
Keep the message short. The body text goes inside the symbol, so a long paragraph makes a dense code. A sentence is fine; an essay is not.
Not every mail app handles a pre-filled body identically. Test on both an iPhone and an Android handset if the wording matters.
