How a FaceTime QR code works

The code encodes a FaceTime link to your number or Apple ID. On an Apple device, scanning it offers to start a FaceTime call. The person still confirms before anything connects.

Where it earns its keep

  • Remote support desks. Let someone show you the problem instead of describing it.
  • Estate agents and surveyors. Offer a live walkthrough from a window card.
  • Consultations and clinics. A printed card in an appointment letter.
  • Family cards. Put one on the fridge for relatives who find dialling awkward.

Getting it right

This is an Apple-only feature. Android handsets have no FaceTime, and behaviour there ranges from falling back to a normal call to doing nothing at all. If your audience is mixed, a phone code is the safer choice — or print both and label them.

Include the country code on the number.

An Apple ID email also works in place of a number, if that is how people usually reach you on FaceTime.
