How a URL QR code works
The web address is encoded directly into the symbol. A phone camera reads it and offers to open the page. Nothing is routed through QRSpike, so the code cannot break because of anything at our end.
The flip side is that the destination is fixed. Once the code is printed, the only way to point it somewhere else is to print a new one.
Where it earns its keep

Getting it right
Use the shortest address that works. Shorter URLs make sparser codes, and sparser codes scan faster and survive worse printing. Strip tracking parameters you do not need.
Include the scheme. The address has to start with
http:// or https://, otherwise some scanners treat it as
plain text rather than a link.
Check the destination is mobile-friendly. Essentially everyone scanning is on a phone.
